Community and public sector education
Ombudsman Victoria offers a variety of educational services. The Ombudsman's educational services aim to promote good administration in the Victorian Public Service and its agencies and to raise awareness of the Ombudsman in the community.
For the community
Information sessions
Information sessions and workshops are available to all community groups. Ombudsman Victoria is particularly interested in improving awareness and access among Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Topics can include:
- The role of the Ombudsman
- What sort of complaints the Ombudsman can investigate
- Understanding government
- Tips for dealing with government agencies
- How to make a complaint
- Freedom of information
- Whistleblowing

Regional visits
To ensure all Victorians have access to his office, the Ombudsman, the Deputy Ombudsman and Ombudsman Victoria officers conduct visits to regional and outer metropolitan locations around Victoria. Visits in late 2008 included Traralgon and Healesville, visits in early 2009 include Swan Hill and Mildura. For more information about regional visits please contact the Ombudsman's office.

On request, Ombudsman Victoria can provide written material for community publications tailored to the needs of particular groups.
For the public sector

Ombudsman Victoria promotes good administration in the public sector through information sessions. Sessions are available to all interested government agencies, local councils, Universities, TAFEs, statutory bodies or community service organisations. Topics can include:
- The role of the Ombudsman

- The importance of good complaint handling
- Tips for good complaint handling
- Dealing with difficult complainants
- How to handle an Ombudsman investigation
- Freedom of information
- Whistleblowers
Ombudsman Victoria can provide speakers for conferences, staff training sessions and other public sector events.
