The Ombudsman Act 1973 contains provisions around any matter complained about, in order to protect the parties and to allow the Ombudsman's investigations to occur without interference.
Accordingly, the Ombudsman conducts all his enquiries and investigations in private and will only comment about investigations and reports that have been tabled in Parliament.
This means that the Ombudsman does not respond to queries about named individuals or organisations and whether he is investigating a matter.
The Media Adviser will assist with enquiries from journalists and coordinate all media activity undertaken by the Ombudsman and his staff.
