Gifts, benefits and hospitality register

The Ombudsman and her staff are bound by a Gifts, Benefits and Hospitality policy. 
 
It is important to us that we maintain high levels of integrity and public trust. We avoid conflicts of interest by declining any gift, benefit or hospitality that could result in a perception that someone will receive preferential treatment.
 
Under our policy, the Ombudsman, Executive, all staff and contractors are required to:
  • Declare all offers of gifts, benefits and hospitality
  • Decline non-token offers of gifts, benefits and hospitality or, where an exemption applies, seek approval to accept the offer.

Each financial year, we will publish a register of the gifts, benefits and hospitality that have been offered to the Ombudsman, Executive, all staff and contractors. Here is the register for the 2016-17 year:
