Victorian Ombudsman wants to hear from you – Warragul and Morwell tour

Victorian Ombudsman officers will be taking complaints direct from members of the public in Warragul and Morwell in November. Similar sessions elsewhere in Victoria have proven very popular, with people queuing to speak to Ombudsman staff.
 
Ombudsman Deborah Glass encourages residents in the Warragul and Morwell areas to come and meet with staff if they have an unresolved issue about a State government agency or local council.
 
‘My office is here to provide a free and fair service for Victorians who have a complaint about a government agency or department, or a local council. We can look into complaints about the actions or decisions of around a thousand government entities in Victoria, including VicRoads, the Sheriff’s Office, and government departments like Health and Human Services, Education and Training, and so on. We can review their actions to ensure they have followed their processes and been fair,’ Ms Glass said.
 
In the last year over 39,000 people contacted the Ombudsman’s office, and 92 per cent of approaches were dealt with in less than 30 days.
