New investigation referred by Parliamentary Committee relating to Ambulance Victoria’s ‘Guards of Honour’ memorial gatherings in 2021
Date posted:The Victorian Ombudsman will investigate a matter referred by the Legislative Council’s Legal and Social Issues Committee in its Final Report of an Inquiry into Ambulance Victoria on 14 October 2025.
The referral is set out in section 2.11 of the Final Report of the Committee’s Inquiry into Ambulance Victoria, and relates to Guards of Honour, or post-funeral memorial gatherings, held in 2021.
When either house or a committee of the parliament refers any matter to the Ombudsman, she must investigate and report on it in accordance with the Ombudsman Act.
The Ombudsman’s investigations are independent and conducted in private.
No further public comment will be made about the referral at this time.
