Gender Equality Action Plan
Our Gender Equality Action Plan addresses gendered structural and cultural inequality.
Under the Gender Equality Act 2020 , Victorian public organisations are required to take positive action towards gender equality within their workplaces through equitable policies, programs and services.
To advance gender equality at the Victorian Ombudsman, our Gender Equality Action Plan 2021–25 describes baseline data about our workforce and gender representation at each level of seniority, flexible work arrangements and recruitment outcomes. Further, it identifies strategies and measures that will help evaluate our progress towards gender equality:
- Monitor and enhance the current gender diversity levels within our organisation.
- Promote pay parity across all genders.
- Maintain a zero tolerance towards sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination in the workplace.
- Support gender retention and intersectionality.
- Increase gender and intersectionality awareness and support.
Importantly, the Gender Equality Action Plan is not just about female representation in the workplace; it is about improving representation across all genders, cultures and preferences with an intersectional lens.
