Case example $20,000 public housing debt waived
Abigail was ordered to pay $20,000 for damage to her public housing. She was a victim of family violence and had left the property temporarily. DHHS assumed she had caused the damage. We asked DHHS to consider the special circumstances. They waived the $20,000 debt.
